Job Description
Senior CDM Principal Designer required to join a multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy. You will be responsible for overseeing and delivering CDM duties across a diverse portfolio of construction projects, ranging from domestic to complex and high-profile.\n\nSectors include commercial, education, healthcare, infrastructure and residential.\n\nYou will plan, manage, monitor and co-ordinate Health and Safety in pre-construction phases of projects; including identifying, eliminating or controlling foreseeable risks and ensuring designers carry out their duties.\n\nDuties include:\n\nAct as the Principal Designer as defined under CDM 2015.\n\nCarry out thorough reviews of site project information and construction drawings and identification of design, construction and maintenance risks through Design Risk Reviews.\n\nProvide CDM advice and support to Client Teams, advising clearly of their Duties, developing bespoke policies, procedures and documentation.\n\nAttend and co-ordinate Design and Project Meetings as required throughout projects.\n\nVisit project sites.\n\nPrepare, co-ordinate and distribute relevant Health and Safety information to other design and project team members.\n\nReview Construction Phase Plans.\n\nOversee preparation and production of Pre-Construction Information.\n\nQualifications\n\nNEBOSH Certificate (or higher) or equivalent health and safety qualification.\n\nDegree or equivalent in a construction-related discipline.\n\nMembership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IOSH, APS, RIBA, ICE, CIOB, CABE).\n\nExperience\n\nStrong background in design or construction-related health and safety.\n\nExtensive experience acting as CDM Principal Designer on medium to large projects.\n\nStrong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and wider construction health and safety legislation.\n\nThe company are offering £50k-£60k plus an excellent benefits package including pension, life assurance and a healthy holiday allowance
