An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housing Litigation Solicitor (NQ - 5 PQE) to join a leading UK law firm in Manchester, specialising in social housing law and housing management litigation.

This role sits within a top-tier housing team acting for Registered Providers, housing associations and local authorities, advising on a broad range of matters including anti-social behaviour, possession proceedings, housing disrepair claims, injunctions and property condition disputes.

Ideal for a junior solicitor looking to build a career in housing litigation, this position offers exposure to complex, high-volume caseloads alongside excellent training and development.

The Role:

• Managing a varied caseload of housing litigation matters on behalf of Registered Providers, with appropriate supervision
• Advising on anti-social behaviour, possession proceedings and wider housing management litigation
• Handling injunctions, committal proceedings, housing disrepair and property condition claims
• Supporting on matters involving hoarding, access issues and policy advice
• Assisting senior colleagues on complex and high-value cases
• Attending court hearings and undertaking advocacy where appropriate
• Drafting pleadings, witness statements and applications
• Providing clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice to clients
• Building strong client relationships and contributing to excellent service delivery

The Candidate:

• Qualified Solicitor with 0–5 years’ PQE
• Experience of, or a strong interest in, housing litigation or social housing law
• Exposure to contentious work (desirable)
• Some advocacy experience or a willingness to develop this skill
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Proactive, ambitious and keen to build a career in housing law
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• A team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and develop
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
