Location: Elgin preferable, Keith, Huntly, North Aberdeen, South Inverness (happy to consider candidates in and around the stated areas). Home based with daily travel to client sites. We aim to minimise travel where possible and offer localised geographical areas.
Salary: Starting salary of £41,714 plus a company car / £4,250 car allowance and an excellent benefits package.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operate in line with Bureau Veritas Core Values and Code of Ethics.
2. Fully utilize all operational systems available, ensuring accurate data is inputted and reflected.
3. Work as part of a national and regional team, while retaining independent ownership of all inspection and technical activities.
4. Ensure examinations and testing are completed within set timeframes according to the schedule.
5. Produce and distribute inspection reports professionally within daily timescales and service standards.
6. Follow Bureau Veritas Health and Safety processes and systems.
7. Safely carry out electrical safety tests on portable appliances on customer premises, in accordance with the Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
8. Conduct inspections within agreed authorities and standards, recording activities as per company methods.
9. Provide technical and legislative advice to clients, team members, and external bodies as necessary.
10. Build and maintain excellent client relationships, meeting all customer service standards.
11. Coordinate with the Regional Planner to ensure daily plan completion, communicating any changes.
12. Stay informed about developments in standards and legislation affecting electrical installations and support necessary changes.
13. Represent the company using technical expertise when required.
14. Identify potential business opportunities and advise relevant areas.
15. Collaborate effectively with Area Managers and Regional Directors to meet KPIs.
Experience & Skills Required:
* Relevant electrical knowledge.
* Previous experience in a similar role or as a time-served apprentice holding their 18th edition.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Computer literacy.
* Good knowledge of industry trends, developments, and legislation, including H&S requirements.
Qualifications Required:
* 18th Edition regulations.
* City & Guilds Part 1, 2, and 3 OR Level 3 City and Guilds 2365 Diploma in electrical installation (HNC desirable).
* Preferably City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/5 courses (or equivalent).
* Current UK driving license.
* GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
