We are currently looking for a Mobile Electrical Service Engineer to join our Mobile South team across the Berkshire, Hertfordshire, and South Bucks areas.
Role Overview:
As a Mobile Electrical Service Engineer, you will play a vital role in delivering electrical maintenance services across a range of commercial and residential sites. While your primary expertise will be in electrical systems, this role offers the opportunity to diversify your skills. You'll be involved in both electrical and mechanical systems, as well as air handling units, pumps, and other plant-related equipment. We will provide on-the-job training to expand your abilities into other trades, giving you the opportunity to become a well-rounded engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work across various sites, including fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs.
2. Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) tasks, logging completion times and ensuring all required paperwork is up-to-date.
3. React quickly to breakdowns and plant failures, ensuring systems are restored to serviceable order.
4. Manage spare parts, providing parts lists and estimated timelines for any required remedial work.
5. Conduct risk assessments (POWRA) to ensure safe working practices, with a focus on health and safety regulations.
6. Operate a Permit to Work system, ensuring compliance with all safety requirements.
7. Work in collaboration with clients, subcontractors, and the team to maintain high standards of service.
8. Participate in the regional on-call rota, responding to breakdowns outside of standard working hours.
9. Ensure plant rooms are tidy and compliant with safety standards, and maintain tools and test equipment.
10. Engage in continuous professional development and training in additional trades, expanding your skillset across mechanical and other building systems.
The Ideal Candidate:
11. A recognised industry qualification (Electrical) is essential.
12. Strong experience in electrical systems maintenance, fault finding, and diagnostics.
13. Knowledge of mechanical systems, air handling units, pumps, and building management systems is advantageous.
14. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
15. Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
16. A clean UK drivers license is required.
17. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and participation in an out-of-hours standby rota.
