Overview
Role: We are looking for a personal care assistant to our client who is an 11-year-old boy who has autism, ADD and a learning disability.
You will be supporting our client to enjoy his time outside of school. This might be going to McDonalds, going to the park, having a walk or supporting him around the house. Somebody who can suggest other activities would be beneficial.
Responsibilities
* Support our client to enjoy time outside of school, including activities such as going to McDonalds, going to the park, taking walks, and helping around the house.
* Suggest additional activities that promote engagement and development.
* Be observant and maintain a good level of fitness to help ensure the safety of our client, who is non-verbal but communicates once you get to know him, has PICA, and has very little sense of danger.
Qualifications
* Caring attitude, good sense of humour, reliability with a positive and flexible approach to work.
* Experience in this context is essential.
* Ability to be observant and maintain safety given the client’s needs.
* Enhanced PVG check is required.
