Role Overview
Fire safety training is essential to ensure that fire prevention and emergency action plans can be effectively implemented, enabling staff to safely evacuate others in the event of a fire.
We are currently expanding our network of freelance fire safety trainers to meet the growing demand for our face-to-face fire marshal/warden and practical fire extinguisher training at client sites across the UK.
We're looking for experienced and qualified freelance fire safety trainers with a passion for presenting relevant, engaging and up-to-date fire safety training sessions that align with current fire safety legislation, to a variety of organisations and settings nationwide.
The Role
As a freelance fire safety trainer, you will be responsible for delivering our high-quality, comprehensive, face-to-face fire safety courses at our customers' workplaces.
Typical course content includes:
* Fire prevention and general fire safety principles
* How to respond to a fire
* Legal responsibilities of fire wardens/marshals
* Evacuation procedures and drills
* Hands-on fire extinguisher practical training
You must be able to:
* Tailor training for a variety of different organisations, such as care homes, schools, hospitality venues and corporate clients etc.
* Ensure all content aligns with current fire safety and health and safety legislation and best practices
* Contribute to the development of training materials and resources
* Obtain learner feedback to assess training effectiveness
* Accurately complete all required documentation
* Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years' experience delivering in-person fire safety training (including fire warden and fire extinguisher training)
* Recognised training qualification
* Relevant fire safety qualification
* Public liability and professional indemnity insurance (or willingness to obtain)
* Up-to-date knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and standards
* Friendly and professional manner with strong presentation and engagement skills
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Access to a vehicle, a valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel
* Valid DBS check
* Ownership of well-maintained fire training equipment (eg water and CO₂ extinguishers and a fire rig).
