Job Title: Project ManagerReports to: Contracts ManagerLocation: Knowsley, with UK and some overseas travel as required.Job Purpose: To plan, organise and manage allocated projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client and Clarke Energy. Majority of time spent: Day to day management of Project and the client relationship.We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to lead and manage the design, execution, and commissioning of large-scale EPC projects. In this role, you will take overall responsibility for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while leading a dynamic team of Clarke Energy staff and contractors.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the project team through the entire lifecycle, ensuring performance and delivery meet timescales, budgets, and quality standards.Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-ones, providing feedback and guidance to ensure progress is on target.Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and performance.Liaise with clients to understand and interpret their requirements, ensuring any deviations from the contract are communicated to the Contracts Manager.Negotiate project timescales and costs with clients, ensuring agreement on project deliverables.Develop a detailed Project Plan, including all technical, commercial, and installation tasks for progress tracking and reporting.Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards are fully integrated into project plans and adhered to at all stages.Allocate resources to achieve project goals on time and to the required quality.Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure the best value on materials and services.Monitor project progress, resolving delays or issues as needed.Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring regular communication and satisfaction with project progress.Report project status to the Contract Manager, highlighting any difficulties and the actions taken to address them.Essential Qualifications & Skills:Proven experience in project management in an engineering environmentKnowledge of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental management policies and proceduresExperience with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015)Excellent client management skillsSolid budget management experienceWorking knowledge of construction contracts such as FIDIC, NEC and JCTProficient IT skills – Word, Excel, and Microsoft ProjectCoaching and team development skillsPersonal Attributes:A role model for reliability, integrity, and professionalismExcellent client-facing and internal communication skillsHighly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage team workloadCommitted to quality, continuous improvement, and self-improvementAccountable for personal and team performance, and able to challenge behaviours that do not align with Clarke Energy valuesCreative and pragmatic thinker, capable of finding solutions to complex problemsStrong team leader with the ability to motivate and develop team membersCommercially aware, acting to minimize costs for Clarke Energy and customersResilient and able to work effectively under pressureDesirable Experience:Technical background with knowledge of Combined Heat and Power (CHP), hot water, steam raising plants, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Gas Peaking and general electrical installation principlesDegree, HND, or HNC in EngineeringProject Management qualificationThe Benefits:Competitive salary25 days holiday, plus enhanced entitlement based on length of serviceHoliday buy and sell schemeCompany pension contribution of 7%Health care cash planLife AssuranceEmployee Assistance ProgrammeHybrid working optionsReward and Recognition schemesDevelopment and investment in employeesCar allowanceIn-house certified training departmentAbout Clarke Energy:Clarke Energy is an award-winning, multinational specialist in the engineering, installation, and maintenance of sustainable energy solutions for both front and behind-meter applications.
