Join the Building Surveyor Role at Crawford & Company
Within this rewarding role, you’ll support our Property team in handling general material damage losses and complex building-related issues. Claims typically range from around £20,000 to over £1 million, with an average claim value of approximately £250,000. This position is remote with travel requirements.
Responsibilities
You will work alongside experienced adjusters, conducting surveys to assess damages, establish defect diagnoses, and ensure compliance with Planning, Building Regulations, Party Wall, and CDM standards. Your duties include arranging testing, preparing reports, managing complaints, and ensuring adherence to performance and process standards. All claims require appraisal reports with cost estimates and recommendations.
Qualifications
We seek an experienced Surveyor, preferably Chartered MRICS. The ideal candidate enjoys technical surveying and possesses:
* Customer-focused attitude, maintaining high-quality standards for internal and external clients
* Team-oriented approach, collaborating across departments
* Reactive mindset, responding promptly to workload demands
* Proactive approach to meet KPIs and SLAs
* Strong report and presentation skills
* Technical competence and up-to-date health & safety knowledge
* Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
* Full UK driving license and willingness to travel
This role is subject to a satisfactory basic DBS check due to the nature of the work.
