Technical Sales Engineer
£50,000 basic salary plus commission

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join a specialist engineering business operating within the industrial filtration, emissions, and process systems sector.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically minded sales professional who enjoys developing customer relationships, managing complex projects, and delivering tailored aftermarket and upgrade solutions across industrial environments.
The Role
The Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for growing aftermarket project revenue across a designated UK region through both new business development and management of existing customer accounts.
The role focuses on developing opportunities from installed systems, including upgrades, retrofits, service additions, and technical improvement projects. You will work closely with operational and service teams to deliver high-quality customer solutions and support long-term business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Develop new business opportunities and increase market share within target industries
Build and maintain strong relationships with end users and key customer accounts
Identify opportunities from existing installed systems including upgrades and retrofit projects
Carry out site surveys, technical assessments, and customer visits
Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and reports
Manage customer communication relating to tenders, quotations, opportunities, and orders
Maintain and grow an active sales pipeline
Achieve agreed sales KPIs and revenue targets
Support service execution activities within your region
Ensure excellent customer satisfaction through close collaboration with service teams
Maintain accurate CRM records including forecasts, appointments, pipeline activity, and customer information
Provide accurate monthly and long-term sales forecasts
What We’re Looking For
* Previous field sales experience within industrial engineering, technical services, or capital equipment
* Experience working with filtration systems, hot gas systems, emissions control, or related industrial processes
* Strong technical understanding of:
* Electrical and control systems
* Pneumatic systems
* PLCs and inverter drives
* ATEX regulations
* IOT and digital industrial technologies
* Ability to manage technically complex projects and customer requirements
* Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building skills
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
* Comfortable generating leads and developing new business opportunities
* Customer-focused with strong communication and problem-solving abilities
* Willingness to travel across the UK, including occasional overnight stays
Qualifications
* Technical or engineering background preferred
* Business-related qualifications also considered
* Full UK driving licence required
