Head of Development, Major Gifts role at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Grade 9: £55,636 - £64,228 per annum including the Oxford University Weighting of £1,500 per annum. Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week).

Founded in 1996, the School focuses on tackling complex world-scale challenges and preparing business leaders for the task of making the world a better and more equitable place. Philanthropy is a vital revenue pillar, supporting capital projects, scholarships, academic posts, and global research programmes. In the last financial year philanthropic income exceeded £24m, with this year’s target at £40m.
Responsibilities
* Manage and cultivate a mixed portfolio of approximately 85 prospects (individuals, corporations, and trusts & foundations) and secure philanthropic support for high-profile projects and strategic institutional priorities.
* Work with key stakeholders across the School and wider collegiate university, reporting to the Associate Director, Development, and collaborating with subject matter experts to translate their work into robust cases for support.
* Operate with an entrepreneurial mindset and apply fundraising best practice to secure gifts up to seven figures in a fast-paced environment.
* Join a progressive and growing team and contribute to the School’s ambition to fund strategic priorities and research initiatives for global impact.
Qualifications and experience
* Proven experience of major donor fundraising, ideally with exposure to the corporate world.
* Strong track record of translating subject matter into robust cases for support.
* Entrepreneurial mindset, knowledge of fundraising best practice, and excellent organizational skills to operate effectively in fast-paced environments.
* Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and deliver impact for high-profile projects.
