Summary
Base: Avondale, Royal Preston Hospital or Ormskirk District General Hospital. Join the Initial Response Service (IRS) – a 24/7 mental health triage and referral service providing phone and face‑to‑face assessments for patients, carers and professionals.
Responsibilities
* Act as the single referral point for GPs and other professionals.
* Deliver 24‑hour telephone and in‑person triage, assessment and signposting to appropriate services.
* Support call handlers and the administration team in providing information and assistance over the telephone.
* Work shift patterns within the Preston team, with shift times and days negotiable at interview.
* Promote recovery and provide encouragement to people with mental health challenges and their families.
Qualifications
* Experienced Band 6 Nurses, Social Workers or Occupational Therapists.
* Knowledge of mental health trauma‑informed care and crisis response.
* Ability to work autonomously in a 24/7 service and meet performance targets.
* Strong communication skills and capacity to self‑refer or assist others in self‑refer.
