If you are passionate about what we do at Gleeson and are considering a new challenge, we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join our construction team. You will work with external partners and subcontractors while collaborating with our onsite sales team.
To be considered for this role, you should share our Gleeson values of being Passionate, Collaborative, and Respectful, along with having previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager working on high-volume new build housing developments.
Main Responsibilities
We're looking for proactive individuals who genuinely believe in our mission—building homes and changing lives. We value collaborative leaders who positively influence teams and communicate effectively across departments, both onsite and offsite. You will reinforce directives from the Site and Contracts Manager, helping to deliver projects safely and on schedule. Leading by example is essential.
The Role Includes
* Ensuring the site is operated safely, reinforcing Home Safe procedures, maintaining attention to detail, and proactively ensuring compliance.
* Supporting onsite construction and customer care management.
* Ensuring effective compliance, control, and deployment of construction and customer care activities according to company policies, including managing defects post-completion to achieve 5-star customer satisfaction.
* Liaising with all stakeholders and suppliers, both internal and external.
* Building and maintaining relationships, including engaging with local communities and promoting the Gleeson model.
* Using Zutec and Digital Plot Books tools.
The Ideal Candidate
* CSCS card (minimum requirement)
* NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision or similar, or working towards it; or achieved a Pass or Distinction
* SMSTS card holder
* First Aid at Work certification
* CISRS Scaffold qualification
* Good knowledge of construction methods and processes
* Awareness of relevant codes of practice (e.g., NHBC, Building Regulations)
* Experience in the housebuilding industry
* Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager or Site Supervisor is preferred
* Valid UK driving licence
