Position: Behaviour Support Assistant Location: Redbridge Salary: £27,954 - £29,202 Contract: Permanent Start date: As soon as possible Smart Teachers are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Assistant to join a forward-thinking secondary school in East London from May 2026 This is an excellent opportunity to support vulnerable students within a structured and inclusive environment, working closely with the leadership team, teaching staff, and external agencies to ensure all learners achieve their full potential. The Role: Supporting students with SEND and those at risk of underachievement Monitoring and tracking student progress, both academically and socially Contributing to pastoral strategies and interventions Supporting attendance, engagement, and behaviour systems Liaising with parents, carers, and external professionals Assisting with whole-school initiatives including rewards and sanctions The School: Part of a reputable Multi-Academy Trust Strong focus on inclusion, pastoral care, and student progress Supportive leadership team with clear structures in place Committed to staff development and safeguarding The Ideal Candidate: Experience working with young people in an educational or support setting Strong understanding of inclusion and SEND Confident in monitoring progress and using data effectively Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Flexible, proactive, and able to build positive relationships with students GCSEs in English and Maths (essential) What Smart Teachers Offer: Competitive pay rates Dedicated consultant support Access to ongoing CPD and training Opportunities across a wide network of schools Safeguarding Statement: Smart Teachers is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
