As a Sexual Offence Medical Examiner, you will learn through clinical placements and blended learning as well as receive further personal support with an allocated mentor. We will identify an individualised programme of education and exposure to clinical environments, providing opportunities for examinations, in addition to financial support whilst undertaking this post. Police vetting requires 3 years residence in the UK. Key Responsibilities Will Include: Forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits. Develop Forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines. Actively working in partnership with external MDTs and Police. Point of contact for Police and Social Services to discuss referral pathways. Undertaking holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding. Supporting the continued quality improvement of the service. Working under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements. Obtaining consent for Health and Forensic procedures Travel for training days will also be a requirement of this role. Essential Skills Required: GMC-registered Doctor A minimum of 3 years relevant post Foundation experience. Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults. Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality. Experience of working in Sexual health, Paediatrics, GP or Obs/Gynae. Because of the nature of the Sexual Offence Examiner, applications are invited from females only. Advanced DBS and level 2 Police vetting will be required. This requires residency for 3 years in the UK Medical Indemnity by start date is also a requirement.
