For Vacancies at Denominational Schools:
Evidence of Catholic Church Approval: Applicants must obtain Catholic Church approval when submitting their application. A copy of this approval should be provided to the Chair of the Panel before the interview. If pending, confirmation of submission from the Church Representative is acceptable.
Denominational Primary Posts: Applicants must hold the Catholic Teaching Certificate or Catholic Religious Education Certificate. Further information and forms are available at: Scottish Catholic Education Service (SCES)
Denominational Secondary Posts: Applicants need RC approval for the specific school. More details can be found at the same SCES link above.
Responsibilities
This post is considered regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020, requiring membership in the PVG scheme. Preferred applicants will need to join or update their PVG scheme membership before a formal offer is made.
The employment is exempt from section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants must disclose all convictions, including spent ones, as failure to do so could lead to dismissal or disciplinary action.
