This is a 1st Shift Position, with the standard hours of 6am – 4pm, and every-other weekend (Fri-Mon) scheduling. Key responsibilities include security patrols, responding to medical and emergency calls, community engagement, and enforcing University policies.
Responsibilities:
* Security patrols of campus (by vehicle and on foot)
* Responding to medical and emergency calls for service
* Community engagement with faculty, staff, and students
* Enforcing all University student and employee conduct policies
* Conducting criminal investigations
* Providing safe-ride services
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Experience:
One year of employment in the safety and security services field or emergency services industry is required. Prior experience working in a higher education setting is also required. Preferred experience includes 2 years of law enforcement/security experience, 2 years of emergency services experience, and certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, and Stop the Bleed.

* First Aid/ CPR / AED and Stop the Bleed Certifications
* 1 year in a customer-service related field
* Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel

Special Working Conditions:
The employee must be able to mentally and physically perform essential job functions which require walking, prolonged standing, pushing, pulling, stooping, lifting (40lbs), and dragging 150lbs 10 feet or more, and endure various weather conditions.
Driving Requirements:
This position requires the operation of a Messiah University owned or leased vehicle, with a current driver’s license, meeting the established criteria, and abiding by all policies and procedures as presented in the University’s Fleet Vehicle Use Policy.
