JOB PURPOSE
As a member of our technical team, you will lead the design and development of new and improved products for the civil and military aerospace sectors, from initial concept to release to serial production.
This will require the development of tyre design parameters, in conformance with industry, airworthiness and aircraft manufacturer requirements, and based on your general knowledge of tyre force properties, tyre mechanics and landing gear dynamics.
Contributing to the development of new toolsets and procedures, you will ensure design definition conforms to all design parameters throughout development.
Such design definition will include:
· Green and cured tyre geometry
· Construction and release of initial tyre specifications
· Process control and tolerance constraints
· Output of tyre design parameters for tolling design
Ultimately you will be responsible for the coordination of a successful tyre qualification, ensuring appropriate engagement of customer and regulatory oversight.
To be successful in this role you should have:
· BSc/BEng in related field (or equivalent experience)
· years product design experience preferred
· Strong organisation and project management skills
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Proven team-player, with excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills
· Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office, ERP (Syteline) and project management
· CAD (Solidworks / Auto CAD) experience and familiarity with FEA (Abaqus)
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Development of tyre design parameters, in conformance with industry, airworthiness and aircraft manufacturer requirements based on a general understanding of tyre force properties, tyre mechanics and landing gear dynamics
· Contributing to the development of new toolsets and procedures for design definition and performance analysis
· Development of design definition, not limited to:
· Green and cured tyre geometry
· Construction and release of initial tyre specifications
· Process control and tolerance constraints
· Output of tyre design parameters for tolling design
· Coordination of a successful tyre qualification, ensuring appropriate engagement of customer and regulatory oversight
PRINCIPLE MEASUREABLES
· RFT > 90% (measured through the development phase)
· OTIF > 95%
· Project utilisation > 90%

QUALIFICATIONS
Must have:
* BSc/BEng in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering
Should have:
* CAD & Product Design experience or Tyre Industry experience
Could have:
* MSc in Mechanical or Aeronautical engineering
