Clinical Lead for Older People

We have an excellent opportunity for a clinician to lead and manage our team in order to achieve excellent outcomes for the people who use our service and their carers and to ensure the service operates in a safe, effective & efficient way as part of the whole system of mental health services.
This service is dedicated to individuals residing in their own homes and care homes with functional and organic diseases or a combination of both and offers comprehensive mental health support and treatment to people who present with mental health and/or memory problems.
This role alongside the other Clinical Leads cover for each other as needed, such as annual leave, training or sick leave.
The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical and managerial supervision to Band 6 clinical staff and junior staff, where appropriate.
The post holder will provide specialist mental health advice and education to primary care colleagues.
Main duties of the job
* Promote positivity, can-do attitude and enhance the experience of the team members and the people we serve.
* Establish and embed a senior leadership team function for the service.
* Responsible for developing and implementing strategies that promote an environment of involvement and recovery.
* Ensure that the agenda of social inclusion is reflected in interventions offered and implemented.
* Responsible for the development of a high-quality service.
* Lead & motivate staff to provide a pro‑active and responsive high‑quality service, contributing to ongoing audit and evaluation.
* Ensure that the necessary systems & protocols for the delivery of a safe & supportive service are in place, understood & adhered to throughout the Service.
* Ensure that effective communications systems are established, maintained and monitored regularly within the Service & between the Teams & other services/agencies/partners.
* Provide line management for staff within the Service.
* Ensure arrangements are in place for all service members to receive regular supervision, appraisal and have their personal development plans and training needs identified and, where possible, met.
* Access and use information contained within the Trust's patient‑based information systems.
* Lead and be responsible for ensuring that they and all team members fulfil our duties regarding Safeguarding Adults.

Qualifications
* NMC Registration
* Valid UK Driving Licence
* Attended leadership training
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years as a band 6 nurse
* Minimum of 2 years experience of supervising nurses and Associate Practitioners
* Minimum of 2 years Older Adult or Community Mental Health experience
* oTo support strategic leadership in relation to service improvement and quality evaluation.
