Job details Job reference: REQ000050 Date posted: 23/06/2025 Application closing date: 07/07/2025 Location: Belfast Harbour Estate Salary: Blank Package: Blank Contractual hours: Blank Basis: Full Time Job category/type: Operations Engineering Maintenance Planner & Scheduler The maintenance planner and scheduler will ensure efficient utilisation of engineering resource (people, tools and equipment), that planned maintenance schedules are adhered to and that other forms of maintenance (breakdown, corrective, service requests) are appropriately prioritised. They will seek to continuously improve maintenance planning & scheduling processes with the aim of improving team efficiency and supporting the broader asset management goals of ensuring safety, maximising availability and assuring asset performance. As the Maintenance Planner & Scheduler, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective utilisation of engineering resources, people, tools, and time by coordinating all planned and reactive maintenance activity across Belfast Harbour. You will oversee the scheduling of work, conversion of service requests, shutdown coordination, and integration of new asset maintenance routines. You will help deliver high asset availability, operational safety, and continuous improvement in line with our asset management goals. Key Responsibilities Schedule and allocate resources to all maintenance & project activities using WOs workflow and monitor progress. Review and convert service requests into work orders and communicate progress of requests (crane defects, pilot boat defects, service requests etc). Analyse work order feedback and reports, then plan any follow-up work. Participate in managing engineering statutory and good practice activities (LOLER, PSSR, PAT testing etc.). Manage 3rd party service providers as required e.g. raising PO's, issuing PTW's. Essential Criteria NVQ level 3 Engineering or equivalent in related subject 5 years proven experience and competency in a port / heavy production / manufacturing / industrial environment, not necessarily as a maintenance planner. Computer literacy Effective written, verbal and presentational communication skills Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and process systems knowledge. Excellent analytical skills Strongly driven by a safety culture Able to work as part of wider team and share best practises to help other teams. Problem solver both reactively and in use of data to inform longer term decision making. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to develop collaborative relationships internally and externally.
