ALink Recruitment are working with an engineering consultancy that are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer with experience working on TfL projects. Day-to-day, you will be involved in the development of electrical engineering solutions to a variety of our clients projects within the rail industry, from concept to construction. Role Accountabilities * Interpretation and implementation of client specification requirements in the development of designs and engineering solutions * Undertake electrical services design/engineering on UK rail or related projects with a good understanding of regulatory requirements and relevant standards * Undertake technical tasks in accordance with the company’s quality, safety and project management/engineering procedures and controls * Preparation of calculations, technical reports, specifications and drawings * Delivery of allocated technical assignments including LV distribution, cable management system, energy metering, lighting and control, earthing and bonding, sustainable technologies and renewable energy systems, etc * Inputs to the formulation of technical proposals and their presentation to potential clients * Accountable for the effective delivery of the assigned tasks and deliverables of Projects to time, to the required quality and budget * Maintain good relationships with client’s key representatives, and contribute to the marketing / networking of the company to potential customers * Contribute to the overall team development and growth through strategic inputs, skill development and mentoring intermediate and graduate engineers * Manage and plan your work and deliverables while working on multiple projects to meet the expected delivery milestones * Identify and implement digital initiatives to drive efficiency and productivity in project delivery Requirements * Right to work in the UK * Degree in Engineering (BSc, MSc or MEng) or equivalent * At least 5 years, post-graduate experience in electrical engineering * Experience in the Rail Industry and a sound understanding of the Rail Environment, rules and regulations * Competent user of office IT and design software tools i.e., AMTECH, Dialux, etc * Working knowledge of AutoCAD/REVIT * Experience and good knowledge of TfL Pathway or Network Rail GRIP, PACE and engineering standards and specifications * Experience and good knowledge of using electrical engineering standards and specifications (Rail or Building related) * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Proven ability to work under pressure within time constraints * Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base * Proven capability to build relationships, be proactive and be part of a variety of teams, including multidisciplinary teams * Computer literate and good experience of computer software programs such as, MS Office (Word, Excel, Project) * A challenging attitude towards solving engineering problems to achieve cost effective designs and develop innovative solutions
