Based: Floor 8, OMBC Offices, Childrens Social Care, Spindles Shopping Centre, West Street, Oldham, OL1 1LF

Role Overview:
* Responsible for a smaller caseload, including complex and challenging cases, providing high-quality interventions to ensure safety and improved outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
* Work with partner agencies to undertake assessments, co-produce and implement plans, and evaluate progress to achieve the best outcomes for children, young people, and families.
* Support staff through reflective and group supervision, offering advice and guidance to promote high standards of practice.
* Assist the team manager with quality assurance feedback and data, fostering a learning culture, sharing good practices, and identifying areas for development.
* Model professional development and promote social work best practices based on research.
Oldham provides a pathway for Advanced Practitioners to develop leadership skills, including recognition and approval to authorize service delivery elements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and co-work on complex and sensitive cases, chair multi-agency meetings as needed.
* Drive practice improvement, lead on action plans, promote a culture of support and challenge, and develop quality standards.
* Provide mentoring and shadowing to colleagues, supporting their learning and decision-making, including attending court and panels.
Key Requirements:
* Experience in conducting sensitive assessments of high-risk service users, carers, and families.
* Skills in engaging children and young people, understanding their lived experiences, and maximizing participation.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines, and government initiatives in social work.
