Senior Surveyor
Location: Long Stratton
Duration: Permanent Post
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £48,000 per annum
We are delighted to be supporting our client in the recruitment of a 'Senior Surveyor' on a permanent basis!
Job purpose:
You will lead and manage a team of 5 asset surveyors delivering high-quality condition surveys, stock data collection, technical inspections, and responsive repairs across a busy property portfolio.
You will ensure the information collected is robust and accurate to ensure surveys provide effective diagnosis of defects alongside high standards of customer service and compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead, manage, motivate and develop a team of Asset Surveyors.
* Provide technical oversight of condition and responsive repairs surveying, including diagnosis of building defects, dame and mould assessments, and specification of remedial works.
* Ensure responsive repairs are accurately scoped, priced and categorised.
* Validate survey outputs and maintain data accuracy to support the 30-year investment planning.
* Undertake surveys to inform legal disrepair cases and provide schedules of dilapidation and associated repairs to bring cases to resolution.
* Liaise with tenants, contractors and colleagues to coordinate works, resolve queries and maintain good communication throughout each project.
* Support team competency through coaching, training, and technical guidance.
Person Specification:
* A recognised Degree, HNC or Building surveyor qualification or the equivalent experience is essential.
* Professional membership or working towards membership of a relevant body (e.g. RICS, CIOB, CIH) would be desirable but not essential.
* Understanding of compliance requirements including HHSRS, damp & mould, fire safety, asbestos, and building safety legislation.
