Job overview
To support the Division Senior Management Team (Divisional Director, General Manager, Associate Directors of Nursing and Quality) and Business Managers in the efficient and effective operational management of their respective services to deliver continually improving high quality patient care.
The post holder has delegated responsibilities for a range of operational activities working autonomously using initiative and their specialist knowledge and experience in making decisions.
To act as the specialist for the Patient Admin Services function in Admissions and Clinical Receptionists, providing advice on Service Development, maintaining a high profile and proactive approach to service delivery, developing, maintaining and managing effective relationships with all key contacts to ensure all core service requirements are met and exceeded.
To act as the Trust e-RS Lead and provide specialist advice and expertise in the management of the NHS e-Referral Service and associated outpatient administrative pathways from receipt to outcome.
You must be able to manage service change proactively and effectively, promoting effective working relationships to internal and external stakeholders.
The post holder must be competent in dealing with and communicating with all levels of staff within the Trust and with a diverse population.
Main duties of the job
* Provide a clear, effective and appropriate leadership style that engages the team and ensures the vision and direction of travel is clear and in line with Trust objectives
* Accountable for the development of e-RS Processes, Policies and procedures to ensure a consistent approach across the Trust and ensure all processes work with e-RS.
* Responsible for the full optimisation of e-RS which includes identifying services not currently published to e-RS.
* Attend meetings where e-RS expertise and knowledge is required to provide an expert opinion regarding process and functionality
* To form key relationships and work closely with ICB leads and teams to agree and implement processes across Primary Care to improve the patient pathway and improve patient experience.
* Ensure that individual staff members work in a climate where their contribution is valued
* The role requires an ability to work on own initiative and to act independently within appropriate policies and guidelines
* To be responsible for Patient Services performance against the service plan taking corrective action where appropriate and reporting on a regular basis to the Patient Access Manager
* To ensure that systems are in place across Patient Services remit to ensure the collection and analysis of data to enable continuous performance measurements of service
* To ensure that issues of concern regarding patient experience/service delivery/work performance highlighted are raised appropriately with managers

* Educated to a degree level in Administration or other equivalent qualification
* Qualification in IT skills or experience
