Overview
The Medical Device Service supports users of medical equipment across all hospital sites within the Northern Care Alliance. You will have a key role in supporting the department's responsibility for the maintenance, repair and sub-contractor management of medical equipment. This will include first line support to users of medical equipment to optimise system up time to gain maximum use of medical equipment.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist technical knowledge for the implementation and delivery of a long-term operational plan for cost effective and efficient management and deployment of safe medical devices across the care organisations.
* Work towards achieving compliance levels for medical device repair and maintenance, including downtime, to ensure systems are available for clinical teams to have insight into progress with maintenance and repair of their devices.
Qualifications
* Essential: HNC (Level 4/5 BTEC) qualification in electronic engineering; Full clean UK driving licence.
* Desirable: Electronic Engineering Degree; Registration for clinical technologists (RCT).
Knowledge & Experience
* Experience in electronics maintenance and repair in a workshop environment; specialist knowledge in the application and use of a wide range of medical equipment; knowledge and experience of current legislation recommendations for the management of medical equipment.
* Desirable: Wide range of supplier approved training on servicing and repair of medical equipment; experience of working in a Quality System environment; experience of working with suppliers to resolve and manage clinical risk with the use and application of medical devices.
