Element has an opportunity for a Senior Cyber Engineer to join our growing Cyber Engineering Services team.
A successful candidate will have a strong background as a security engineer, responsible for securing complex global environments and designing scalable security solutions. Expertise in application, cloud, and infrastructure domains is essential.
This hybrid role involves designing and implementing highly secure technical solutions to defend against cyber threats, focusing on detection engineering within Element's security tooling.
Core Responsibilities
1. Assist in designing and implementing security solutions and toolsets to address vulnerabilities and automate tasks.
2. Contribute to the planning and management of the security operations tooling roadmap.
3. Manage and monitor cybersecurity infrastructure and technologies.
4. Create and maintain detection rules to identify suspicious activities and threats.
5. Develop SIEM event correlation rules and logic to filter security events.
6. Support the transition of projects into operational services.
7. Develop technical solutions and security tools for vulnerability mitigation and automation.
8. Maintain design documentation and procedures.
9. Conduct regular security checks and troubleshooting.
10. Prepare operational procedures and protocols.
11. Collaborate with the Cyber Defence team to uphold security practices.
12. Support incident response efforts.
13. Assist in operational and management reporting.
Skills / Qualifications
* Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a belief in 'Security as an enabler'.
* Strong intellectual agility applicable across business contexts.
* Expertise in at least one security domain: Platform Protection, Network Architecture, or Cloud Security.
* Ability to review designs, reports, procedures, and standards confidently.
* Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical findings for non-technical audiences.
* Thorough understanding of security principles, techniques, and trends.
* Experience with networking in complex, multi-site, multinational environments.
* Knowledge of security technologies like NDR, content filtering, FW, IPS, IDS, DDoS mitigation, EDR/MDR, DAST/SAST, IAM, SIEM, SOAR, log management.
* Experience in cyber defense operations.
* Previous experience as a Cyber Security Engineer or as a Network/Server Engineer is beneficial.
* Experience working internationally and in multicultural settings.
* Proactive communicator, comfortable engaging with staff at all levels.
* Interest or experience in working within complex, highly federated organizations.
* Interest or experience in infrastructure and application support and development.
