Cleansing Driver Operative (4 on 4 off). Post No: 9681. Salary: Starting from £31,471.42 to £34,140.12 per annum. Grade: Grade 4. Hours: 35 hours per week (annualised) (4 on 4 off shift pattern). Place of work: Commerce Way, Lancing. Closing date: 9th October 2025. Interviews: TBC.
Do you like to be outside in the fresh air all day? Are you into staying fit and healthy? We are currently recruiting for a physically fit Cleansing Driver Operative to join our friendly team to work in Adur and Worthing. In this role, you will work a 10 hour shift of 4 days on and 4 days off.
Responsibilities
* The post holder's main tasks include litter picking, sweeping shop fronts, emptying litter bins, collection of bulky items from householders, collection of fly tipping around the area, replacing, fixing and repairing litter bins and the delivery and collection of trade & domestic bins to customers throughout the Adur and Worthing district.
* The post holder will take total responsibility for the vehicle, which includes the daily checks before driving the vehicle onto the highway.
* Ensure all safe working practices are complied with under the health and safety code of practice.
* Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed and returned to the office, as necessary, and that all sites are left in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
* During and at the end of each working day, ensure the vehicle is taken to the designated disposal point and emptied.
Qualifications
* Licence to drive a 7.5t vehicle with no more than 3 penalty points.
* Current Certificate in Professional Competence (CPC).
