The Role
We are seeking a motivated Geoscientist to join our growing team in Oxford. This role will focus on seismic data processing, interpretation, and analysis, supporting a range of subsurface and energy‑related projects.
You will play a key role in transforming raw geophysical data into meaningful insights, contributing to high‑quality project delivery across a variety of sectors including energy, infrastructure, and environmental applications.
Key Responsibilities
* Process and analyse 2D and 3D seismic datasets using industry‑standard software
* Apply advanced signal processing techniques to enhance data quality
* Perform velocity modelling, migration, and inversion workflows
* Interpret seismic data to support subsurface modelling and decision‑making
* Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and engineers on multidisciplinary projects
* Ensure data quality control and adherence to project specifications
* Produce technical reports, visualisations, and client‑ready deliverables
* Support continuous improvement of internal workflows and processing techniques
Requirements
* Degree in Geophysics, Geoscience, Earth Science, or a related field
* 2‑5 years experience in seismic data processing (industry or consultancy)
* Strong understanding of seismic acquisition and processing workflows
* Experience with software such as Petrel, Kingdom, ProMAX, or similar
* Knowledge of velocity analysis, stacking, migration, and inversion techniques
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication and report‑writing skills
Desirable
* Experience working on UK or international energy projects
* Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, or other data processing tools
* Understanding of geological modelling and interpretation
* Experience with marine or land seismic data
