Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Quality, Safety and Improvement Directorate of the NHS Wales Performance and Improvement and be part of a growing team providing effective, efficient and high level administrative and business support to the all-Wales Nurse Staffing Programme, enabling the delivery of the programme objectives on time and in full. The post holder will liaise with nursing leads across NHS Wales, engage with frontline nursing teams, and build credible relationships to address professional nursing issues. The role involves maintaining key professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure the national programme is delivered in line with national strategies. The successful candidate will receive a comprehensive induction, access to supportive mechanisms, and opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills. NHS Performance and Improvement offers flexible and agile working and supports hybrid working with attendance in the office (Capital Quarter, Cardiff) as required.
Main duties
This post primarily provides support to the Head of the All-Wales Nurse Staffing Programme, to whom the post-holder is accountable, in the effective and timely delivery of responsibilities as set out in the Nurse Staffing Levels Wales Act (2016). The national programme has been refreshed to promote quality care through nurse staffing levels based on clinical evidence and patient need, embracing a Team Around the Patient approach. The Programme Manager is a senior post responsible for strategic and operational deployment of the Nurse Staffing Programme, using formal programme management approaches and ensuring robust governance. The post holder will maintain momentum, coordinate inter-dependent projects, and demonstrate efficiency and high-level organisation. Experience in monitoring, planning and controlling programmes is critical.

* Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional with current/live professional registration
* Educated to master's degree level or equivalent experience
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Knowledge of the NHS and relevant strategies for NHS Wales, including HEIW Strategic Nursing Workforce Plan and the CNO priorities for Nursing & Midwifery
