What you’ll do:
1. Develop a model in Python to support an area of the commodity risk process, simulating contributory elements, such as volume variations, around a given forecast
2. Assess appropriate methods to produce these simulations, using historic data to calibrate parameters for the model
3. Co-ordinate with other teams to understand the key inputs, what data is available and how often, in order to accurately model the risk ranges
4. Liaise with other risk team members to ensure that the final model works alongside other sections of the overall suite of risk models
5. Produce documentation of the final model illustrating the mathematical concepts used, how the model works and instructions on how to operate it
6. Meet certain requirements for coding including Flexibility, e.g. new business sectors can be freely added or removed Capturing correlation, e.g. between business sectors, fuels Interacting with other models using C++ where appropriate
What we need from you
7. Current studies towards any level a Maths/Stats based discipline
8. Interest in mathematical modelling and experience with Python/C++
9. Great communication skills and attention to detail
10. Comfortable working independently to set goals and objectives

11. Flexible working arrangement (anything between 10 and 37 hours a week)
12. Flexible contract length to fit your studies (with a minimum commitment of 2 months), with flexible start and end date
13. £23,000 pro rata salary
14. Hybrid working model (with a minimum of 40% in our Coventry office)
15. Guidance and supervision as and when it's needed
