Position: Geoenvironmental Engineer (2–5 Years’ Experience)

The Role
We are looking for an ambitious Geoenvironmental Engineer with 2–5 years of experience to join our expanding team at Nottingham. This is a pivotal mid-level role where you will transition from site supervision to technical reporting and project management, working on diverse infrastructure, residential, and brownfield regeneration projects while training for chartership.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management: Manage Phase I and II ground investigations from inception to completion, including procurement and subcontractor supervision.
Technical Reporting: Prepare factual and interpretive reports, including Preliminary Risk Assessments (PRA), Generic Quantitative Risk Assessments (GQRA), and Remediation Method Statements.
Site Operations: Undertaking and overseeing trial pitting, window sampling, and rotary drilling; conduct soil and rock logging to British Standards. Geoinvestigate operates its own soil window sampling and inhouse designed sinkhole and deep mine probing Microdrill® rigs as shown on Channel 4’s recent ‘Mysteries of Sinkholes’ TV documentary as well as Channel 5s 'Sinkholes'.
Environmental Monitoring: Coordinate groundwater, gas, and leachate monitoring regimes and laboratory testing schedules.
Collaboration: Liaise with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver technically robust and sustainable engineering solutions.
What You’ll Bring
Education: A degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (MSc is a plus).
Experience: 2–5 years in a geoenvironmental consultancy or contracting environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in soil logging, risk assessment software, and ideally AutoCAD or HoleBASE.
Drive: A proactive mindset with a strong desire to work toward Chartership (CGeol/CEng/CSci CEng MIMMM), for which we provide full support.
Essential: A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site-based work.
