Are you an experienced KS2 Teacher looking for a long-term opportunity within a supportive primary school?
TeacherActive are working with a welcoming Primary School in Smethwick to recruit a dedicated teacher for a maternity cover role starting April 2026 through to October 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who thrives on consistency, building relationships, and making a lasting impact.
The Role:
Full class teaching responsibilities within Key Stage 2 (ideally Upper KS2 – Year 5/6)
Full-time commitment: Monday – Friday (8:00am – 4:00pm)
Planning, preparation, and assessment (PPA) responsibilities
Deliver engaging and structured lessons aligned with the curriculum
Attend staff meetings, CPD sessions, and parents’ evenings
Monitor and support pupil progress and attainment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification
Strong experience within KS2, ideally Year 5 and/or Year 6
A confident and adaptable teaching style
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
A commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning

Requirements:
