Herd Mundy Richardson Limited, an independent analytical testing facility specialising in pharmaceuticals, has a position vacant for an Analytical Chemist at our laboratories in Stockport. The company is involved in the testing and analysis of pharmaceutical grade materials and finished drug products throughout all stages of the product lifecycle, from early-stage development to QC release. Key Responsibilities: To follow written procedures to carry out the required test on raw materials and pharmaceutical finished products To work in conjunction with the Technical Manager and Quality Assurance to generate the appropriate test results for batch review and release To identify, and work with QA, to assist in the assessment of potential non-conforming quality events and help in the resolution in accordance with standard cGMP practice To ensure housekeeping and cleanliness is kept to a high standard such that health, safety and quality procedures are not compromised Skills and Knowledge It is essential the successful candidate possesses experience in a number of the following areas, additional technique related training would be provided on an as needed basis Chromatographic Techniques (e.g. HPLC / UPLC / GC) Spectroscopic Techniques (e.g. FT-IR / UV-Vis / AA / ICP-MS) Wet Chemistry / Compendial Techniques Dissolution Testing Inhaled Product Analysis Personal Attributes The ideal candidate will be thorough with a good attention to detail, adaptable, personable and technically competent. Excellent laboratory and decision-making skills. Ability to analyse and interpret results, reporting and communicating experimental findings effectively. Good organisation and time management skills in order to meet customer deadlines. Experience Experience of working to current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) regulations is preferred. Education and Training Minimum of BSc Science degree or equivalent. The position is available for an initial 12-month term, with the possibility for extending this subject to project demands.
