Responsibilities
* Accountable for running an individual caseload
* Provide support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients
* Contribute to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team
* Support the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring the delivery of the team’s financial and performance KPIs
* Effective and thorough time recording
* Discuss and agree case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members
* Identify and drive cases ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team
* Work with the team to ensure relevant information is collected and collated to enable case progression
* Manage a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
* Coordinate the progression of cases with all internal and external parties
* Draft legal documentation including LOC, letters of instruction
* Negotiate settlements and issue/service of proceedings as required
* Litigation of claims as required
* Oversee documentation and correspondence produced by the team
* Advise the team on technical issues arising from their cases with support from the Team Leader/Head of Department
Requirements / Ideal Candidate
* Recent experience handling a caseload
* NQ-5 years PQE or equivalent experience in Clinical Negligence
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Excellent communication and drafting skills
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Proclaim and Excel
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
* Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
* Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
* Excellent client care skills
