Overview
This role requires someone who can contribute to a positive team culture and drive quality improvement. The Deputy Ward Manager will support, lead and develop the ward team and wider division to deliver high standards of patient care.
Responsibilities
* Act as ward coordinator, maintaining knowledge of the acuity and demands of all aspects of the ward.
* Liaise with multidisciplinary team members to support the team in delivering effective patient care.
* Participate in staff development, attendance management and promoting staff wellbeing.
* Rotate between days, nights and weekend shifts to help deliver a safe and effective service.
* Provide visible leadership to the ward team to deliver high quality patient care on Ward 10 (a 22 bedded Orthopaedic unit).
Requirements and Qualifications
* Registered nurse with at least 2 years nursing experience; Orthopaedic experience is desirable but not essential.
* Motivated, resilient, calm under pressure and able to deliver a range of clinical skills.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across the multidisciplinary team.
