Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the daily functions of the warehouse, must have experience in implementing efficient processes from beginning to end and have a good understanding of introducing new high standards of health and safety.
Hours Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm - No weekend work required
We are looking for someone to bring their own experience and knowledge into the company. A good understanding of Health & Safety procedures, how to improve and implement.
This role requires strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of supply chain management, as well as proficiency running a small but fast paced warehouse.
Responsibilities include - The daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and safe loading, unloading, and storage of timber & UPVC and related materials. This role involves supervising a team, maintaining a tidy and organized yard, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations and customer service standards
Duties
* Supervise and coordinate all warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
* Implement and maintain transportation management systems to optimise logistics operations.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
* Manage relationships with logistic providers to ensure seamless supply chain processes.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the warehouse environment.
* Train, mentor, and supervise warehouse staff to promote a productive work culture.
Experience
* Proven experience in warehouse management or a related field is essential.
* Familiarity with supply chain principles and practices is highly desirable.
* Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is required, along with knowledge of shipping and receiving processes.
* A good understanding of HSE procedures, how to implement and improve
* Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Previous experience working within a timber yard or similar will be an advantage.
* Forklift license
