Job Title: General Ledger Accountant
Location: Ansty Park – Hybrid (4 days on-site)
Duration: 6 Months
Rate: £24.00 per hour
Security Clearance Required
Role Summary:
Our client is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join their finance team on a 6-month contract. This hybrid role, based at Ansty Park, offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the Record-to-Report (R2R) process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee core Record-to-Report (R2R) activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and SOX compliance.
* Review and approve VAT returns, payroll journals, e-payable reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline.
* Manage the monthly close process, including fixed asset reviews, capital expenditure analysis, and intercompany netting.
* Provide guidance to junior and GL specialists, acting as accounting subject-matter expert and R2R manager back-up.
* Partner with global site finance teams to meet SLA commitments and resolve escalated issues efficiently.
* Analyse and report key financial KPIs to management, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
* Drive process optimisation initiatives to enhance accuracy, control, and operational efficiency across finance functions.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
* Part or fully qualified ACCA / CIMA
* Experience in accounting role
* Experience with SAP would be an advantage
* Previous coordinating / managerial experience would be an advantage
* Solid accounting knowledge
* Team player mentality
* Keen attention to detail
* Comfortable with Microsoft Office applications
* SAP knowledge advantageous
* Willing to challenge processes
* Understanding of SOX beneficial
