A luxury bespoke cabinet making company specialising in high-end, individually crafted furniture and interior fit outs is seeking an experienced CAD Designer to join its close-knit design and production team. Working across premium residential and commercial projects, the company combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design and precision manufacturing.
This is a hands-on CAD design position focused on producing detailed, construction-ready drawings for bespoke furniture and interior projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating accurate 3D construction models and clearly presented, fully detailed drawing packs for issue to designers, builders, and clients for review and sign-off. The CAD Designer will work closely with the workshop and management team to ensure designs are practical, accurate, and fully aligned with manufacturing processes. The role includes managing projects independently, as well as collaborating on larger, more complex interior fit outs. There will also be opportunities to attend site visits and carry out surveys, providing exposure to the full project lifecycle from concept through to installation.
Job Description:
As the CAD Designer will produce detailed 3D construction models and technical drawings using SolidWorks
You will prepare clear, accurate, and well-presented drawing packs for client approval and manufacture
As the CAD Designer will liaise closely with workshop teams to ensure designs are practical, feasible, and aligned with manufacturing processes
You will collaborate with designers, management, and external stakeholders throughout project development
As the CAD Designer will contribute to the delivery of drawings for large-scale and complex interior fit-out projects
As the CAD Designer will provide support, guidance, and training to a junior designer
The CAD Designer will attend site visits and carry out surveys as required to support project accuracy and delivery Candidate Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years' hands-on SolidWorks experience within a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of construction detailing and manufacturing processes
Ability to manage workload and projects independently, meeting deadlines effectively
Comfortable working collaboratively within a small, specialist team
High level of attention to detail with strong organisational and time-management skills Desirable Experience:
Background in furniture making or bespoke joinery
Experience working on luxury or high-end residential and/or commercial projects
Experience using SolidWorks SWOOD CAM and PDM This role is commutable from: Crewe, Newcastle under Lyme, Stafford, Stone, Nantwich, Market Drayton, Eccleshall, Stoke on Trent, Congleton, Keele and surrounding areas
This role would suit candidates with the following experience: Furniture design, staircase design, CAD Designer, Cabinet designer, kitchen designer, Bedroom designer, CAD Engineer
Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
Salary: £35,000 Per Annum
