Assistant Plant Operator Are you passionate about contributing to sustainable energy solutions? Toro Recruitment is working closely with an energy from waste facility based in Gloucestershire who are seeking a new Assistant Plant Operator to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities of an Assistant Plant Operator Safety and Compliance: Understand and comply with all health, safety, and environmental policies and legislation. Training and Competence: Develop competence in accordance with Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Safety Rules. Plant Operations: Conduct regular plant walk-downs and inspections to maintain safe and efficient operations. Log findings, report defects, and address safety concerns. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond correctly to emergency scenarios as instructed by the Shift Team Leader. System Operations: Assist with testing and routine operations of plant systems. Material Handling: Manage the receipt and dispatch of facility inputs and outputs. Equipment Operation: Operate overhead gantry cranes and mobile plant. Plant Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly plant environment. Shift Cover: Provide coverage during sickness, holidays, or training. Data Reporting: Collect and report data as directed by the Shift Team Leader. What we are looking for: Operational Background: Experience in a continuous process industry, preferably within power generation, defense sectors, or related fields with dynamic work environments. Practical Skills: Basic mechanical fitting tasks or mobile plant operation skills are advantageous. Knowledge: Familiarity with environmental permits, health and safety protocols, safe working practices, and outage management.
