Overview
Teledyne e2v in the Chelmsford is the largest commercial employer in the City of Chelmsford, employing over 850 people in Essex. The site generates world-leading technology critical for humankind, including vital components for radiotherapy machines and the imaging devices used in ground-breaking space missions.

Our Space Imaging business in Chelmsford provides high performance CCD, Infrared and CMOS sensors for space science, earth observation, astronomy, and high energy physics applications.
We are looking for an experienced Engineer or Technician to join our highly successful manufacturing team, to develop high precision silicon assembly and provide onward support to manufacture.
Summary
1. Development of new and existing Probe capabilities for the testing of CCD / CMOS Wafers
2. Work with Production Engineers to ensure DFM (design for manufacture) is optimized
3. Assist with development and writing procedures for the prototyping of new products
4. Continuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes and work instructions, working with the wider production/manufacturing team
5. Generation of SAP ME routings from the manufacturing flow diagrams
6. Ensure all documentation is confirmed through Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)
7. Manage and optimize operations flow (information and production flow)
8. Assist with production trials and ensure all relevant documentation is completed
9. Work to existing NPI processes
Qualifications
10. To succeed in this role, you must have:
11. Experience of Production/Manufacturing
12. Experience of developing manufacturing processes
13. Experience of working in a project manufacturing environment
14. Excellent problem solving skills, with documented results
15. The ability to work effectively in a team
16. Self-motivation
17. Attention to detail
18. HNC in Engineering or Physics or equivalent experience
To succeed in this role, you could also have:
19. Experience within an Electronics product manufacturing environment
20. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
