Mobile Electrician – Merseyside Fire & Rescue Services
Equans is looking for an experienced LV Electrical Technician (Authorized 18th Edition) to join Merseyside Fire & Rescue Services in Liverpool. The role is permanent, full‑time (40 hours per week) with a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
This permanent role will support a strong operational team in developing, maintaining and improving the electrical systems across the Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service estate. You will:
* Maintain plant and equipment to agreed specifications and operation.
* Develop an in‑depth knowledge of the relevant individual contracts.
* Ensure paperwork is up to date and correctly completed.
* Close all jobs promptly.
Impact & Responsibilities
* Carry out the defined planned maintenance regime for all contractual obligations.
* Ensure Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) are in place.
* Issue relevant working permits.
* Perform repairs, reactive maintenance and minor installation works on plant.
* Diagnose and repair faults with due regard to customer care.
* Carry out proactive plant monitoring activities to ensure efficient utilisation.
* Use operational information systems to support daily operations and fault diagnosis.
* Complete paperwork and report diligently.
* Undertake any other duties that may be required, including out‑of‑hours work.
Complexity
* Maintain all documentation and records to the highest standard.
* Understand the contracts and obligations.
* Qualify as Authorised, Responsible and Competent Person for systems as required.
* Project a professional image of Equans to external and internal customers.
* Perform other tasks directed by line management.
* Operate in accordance with best practice, equal opportunities, diversity, respect, health and safety policies, and all Equans procedures.
Qualifications or Required Experience
* Full, clean UK driving licence.
* NVQ Level 3 Technical Certificate with NET AM2.
* Prior experience supervising a team.
* Comfortable working to tight deadlines and proactive management of workload.
* IT literate – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
* Ability to think clearly in extreme circumstances.
* Experience using a CAFM system.
* Strong track record in Facilities Management.
* Knowledge of building services and legislation.
