About the Candidate and the type of person who would fit us best: * Full UK driving licence, preferably with categories CE with no more than 3 'live' points. * Previous proven experience of driving vans (3.5T) * Able to work professionally within a close knit team. * Capable of leading a team following all of MWI expectancies ensuring we remain legal and compliant at all times. * Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation, driver regulations, and health & safety practices. * Experience using telematics systems to monitor and improve driver performance. * Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback. * Strong coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and develop others. * A commitment to promoting safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly driving practices. * Organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Primary Duties, Responsibilities and what your role will look like: Driver Training & Coaching: * Deliver initial and ongoing training to drivers, driver assessments. * Coach drivers in safe driving techniques, compliance with legal requirements (In relation to the licence categories held), and company policies. * Promote fuel-efficient driving methods (eco-driving) and provide feedback to improve fuel consumption and reduce emissions. * Constantly driving the team to grow in strength promoting safety, focus, compliance, great customer service and vehicle maintenance and awareness. Performance Monitoring: * Regularly assess driver performance through in-cab observation and driving assessments (when required), telematics data, and feedback from line managers. * Use telematics and other monitoring tools to identify areas for improvement in driver performance, offering tailored coaching where needed. Compliance & Safety: * Ensure all drivers are trained in accordance with company policies and procedures in relation to driving duties. * Provide support to the management team when conducting accident/incident investigations, identify root causes, and provide feedback and training to prevent future occurrences. Continuous Improvement: * Keep up to date with industry best practices, legislative changes, and emerging technologies to ensure the training provided is relevant and effective. * Work with the Transport Manager and other DDC’s to implement initiatives that improve the overall efficiency, safety, and performance of the driver team. Reporting & Feedback: * Prepare and present reports on driver performance, training outcomes, and areas of improvement to the management team. * Provide individual and group feedback to drivers, recognising achievements and addressing areas of concern constructively.
