About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our growing team in Lancaster. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities, producing management reports, and supporting clients with accurate, insightful financial information. You will play a key role in delivering outstanding service and helping our clients thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
* Accurately complete day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
* Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with deadlines.
* Perform regular bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Liaise with clients in a professional and supportive manner.
* Produce management reports to support clients in understanding their financial position.
* Use software such as Xero and Excel to streamline processes and ensure accurate reporting.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experienced bookkeeper with a strong background in purchase and sales ledgers, reconciliations, and VAT.
* Previous experience working in an accountancy practice is essential.
* Qualified (AAT), part-qualified, or qualified by experience, with a proactive and client-focused approach.
* Experience with cloud accounting platforms such as Xero.
* Strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
* Good IT skills, especially in Excel.
