We are seeking an experienced and compassionate General Manager to lead a modern residential care home that provides high-quality residential and dementia care for elderly residents.
The home is purpose-built and situated in a quiet residential area and enjoys a great reputation within the local community. The service is rated 'Good' by CQC and has a strong staff team in place.
As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the effective and safe running of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, customer service, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities include:
Leadership & Management
- Lead, inspire, and support a diverse team of care, hospitality, and lifestyle colleagues.
- Build a positive culture that reflects the home's values of dignity, compassion, and respect.
- Ensure robust staff training, development, and performance management.
Resident Care & Experience
- Oversee delivery of high-quality, person-centred care tailored to each individual.
- Ensure residents' wellbeing, safety, and satisfaction remain central to all decisions.
- Engage with residents, their families, and the wider community to build trust and partnerships.
Operational & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Manage budgets, resources, and occupancy levels effectively.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation across the home.
Continuous Improvement
- Monitor quality assurance systems and implement service improvements.
- Drive innovation and excellence in resident care and customer service.
- Actively contribute to the development of the wider organisation's goals.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven leadership and management experience within a care home, health, or hospitality setting.
Strong knowledge of CQC (or equivalent) regulations and compliance standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
Financial acumen and experience in managing budgets and resources.
