Senior Lead, Finance and Planning Business Partnering
The Secondary Care, Primary Care, Community Services, Vaccines and Screening (SPCVS) Finance and Planning Business Partnering Team in NHS England is recruiting for two senior finance leads.
This is an excellent opportunity to support the NHS by:
* Deciding funding distribution across NHS services in England;
* Supporting innovative programmes to improve patient care and NHS service experience;
* Setting financial and performance priorities for the NHS;
* Reporting annual NHS expenditure;
* Exploring cost-effective use of NHS resources;
* Improving healthcare outcomes and reducing inequalities through resource management.
As a senior finance lead, you will be a key business partner for two or three directorates, assisting in designing and implementing value-for-money policies aligned with the 10-year health plan. You will also manage in-year budgets, oversee monthly reporting, and support budget setting.

The role involves high-profile, fast-paced projects requiring adaptability, rigor, and innovation. It offers significant career development in the NHS, health, or public sector.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend at least 40% of their time working in person. External NHS recruits are typically appointed at the bottom of the pay band. Successful candidates will undergo an Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) via ESR, with the opportunity to opt out if desired.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Fully qualified CCAB or CIMA accountant
Knowledge
* Advanced understanding of finance partnering techniques and NHS financial flows
* Knowledge of healthcare policy implications
