As St Leonard’s Hospice embarks on a major project to expand its retail operation at Clifton Moor, we’re recruiting a Shop Manager to work in the furniture and £1 clearance shop to manage in the day-to-day running of it, delivering an efficient, organised and customer focussed operation to maximise income for the Hospice. Every interaction with our customers, whether that be through purchases or donations will help us to continue to provide care and support to local people with life limiting illnesses. Once the furniture and £1 clearance shop is set up, your main responsibilities as Shop Manager will be to: Maximise store sales, profits and meet KPIs through management of stock, visual merchandising and commercial analysis Provide a high level of customer service to donors and customers and uphold the Hospice values and Retail Service principles Line manage the shop team including paid staff and shop volunteers in the delivery of the shop retail plan by supporting and coaching them to reach their maximum potential Our ideal candidates will have: Experience of working in the retail sector Experience of successfully managing staff and/ or volunteers Proven interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at all levels within the Hospice and to the general public Excellent organisational skills including attention to detail and prioritising their workload and being able to use their initiative to drive footfall and sales What we can offer you in return: Competitive salary Up to 41 days Annual Leave Attractive pension scheme Training and development opportunities A supportive and friendly working environment Extensive employee discounts on shops, holidays and lifestyle choices and Blue Light Card discounts This is a full -time position working 37.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7 which will include weekend working on a rotational basis.
