A warm and inclusive community Primary School in Halewood is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from October 2025. This is a full-time role supporting pupils across EYFS and Key Stage 1, with a particular focus on 1:1 support and small group interventions for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
You will be working alongside a caring Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and committed teaching staff to provide tailored support that helps every child thrive both academically and emotionally.
Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 support to pupils with SEND needs, helping them engage in the curriculum
* Lead and assist in small group interventions when required
* Foster a positive, inclusive environment that supports emotional regulation and social development
* Collaborate with class teachers and the SENDCo to deliver individualised learning plans
* Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, and external agencies when necessary
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
* Experience working with a range of ages and learning needs within the primary setting
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, resilience, and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
* Any relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, or SEND training) are desirable but not essential
