Job Description
* Developing, managing, actioning and documenting projects, to cover agreed technical support to affiliates
* Proposing and gaining support for the general direction of specific projects to be worked on
* Carrying out literature searches, to assist in all areas of technical development
* Updating management on project/work progress in a pre-agreed format
* Undertaking all aspects of analysis, as required
* Interacting with internal stakeholders on technical subjects, especially within Operations for production of specialty grades
* Writing new in-house test methods, as appropriate, and reports/articles for internal and external use
* Participating in Risk Assessments, COSHH assessments, MOC processes etc as required
* Training other members of staff and external personnel, as required
* Attending training courses /seminars and completing competency modules as appropriate
* Ensuring the laboratory and equipment is kept clean, tidy and free of hazards
* Any other tasks as directed by management
Qualifications
* Educated to degree or equivalent level, in a science or engineering discipline
* Laboratory experience essential, bitumen industry experience preferable
* Good communication skills
* IT literate
* Self-motivated, able to independently and within a team setting
