*Phoenix Gas Services* is looking for an experienced *Commercial Gas Service and Repair Engineer* to join our expanding team. This is a new position within our Commercial division, created to meet the growing demand for our services across *Derbyshire and Leicestershire.*
*The Role:*
You will be responsible for servicing and maintaining a wide range of gas appliances, from domestic boilers to industrial heating equipment. This work will primarily be within the social housing sector, including extra care facilities and properties with vulnerable service users. A key part of this role is to be adaptable and diverse, as you will also be required to perform some water-related repairs and maintenance. While your primary focus will be on service and maintenance, you will also be expected to *support and assist our installations team*. A good understanding of commercial equipment installations is essential for this part of the role, but *hands-on installation experience is not required.*
*Responsibilities:*
* Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the site/region are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas for improvement.
* Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on commercial gas and plumbing systems, including boilers, water heaters, and pipework, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
* Diagnose and repair gas system issues promptly, minimising downtime for clients.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems efficiently.
* Ensure all gas systems comply with current regulations and safety standards.
* Conduct safety checks, leak tests, and emissions tests as necessary.
* Communicate effectively with clients to explain service requirements and address any questions or concerns.
* Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order.
* Ensure all relevant paperwork/field engineer app is completed for PPM, reactive, and breakdown works and passed without delay to the contract administrator.
* Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
* Provide engineering support in emergency situations and act as instructed by Gas Safe requirements (e.g., issuing warning notices) to ensure business and operational safety.
*Qualifications & Requirements:*
* *Gas Safety and Commercial Gas Tickets:* CCN1, COCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, DAH1, CODNCO1, CORT1, ICPN1, CIGA1, & TPCP1A.
* *F-GAS *and *catering qualifications* are desirable.
* A *valid UK driving licence.*
* Knowledge and experience working on commercial plumbing systems with strong knowledge of commercial gas systems, equipment, and controls.
* Commitment to safety and compliance.
* Effective communication and customer service skills.
* *L8 Awareness.*
* *Knowledge of SFG20 i*s desirable.
* *Electrical skills or qualifications* are also desirable.
*Salary & Benefits:*
* *Basic Pay*: Starting at *£41,600 per annum*.
* *Pay Review*: Pay review following successful probationary completion.
* *Annual Pay Review*: Annual pay review in March.
* *Out of Hours Call-Out Rota*: You will be required to participate in a *5/2 on-call rota. An out-of-hours retention payment of* *up to £1,400 *will be added to your salary for being on call. Out-of-hours work is paid at *1.5 times your standard hourly rate*.
* *Holiday Entitlement*: You will receive *28 days of holiday entitlement *(including 8 bank holidays). After one year of successful completion, you will receive *1 day of birthday leave per annum.*
* *Medical & Pension*: You will be enrolled in a company pension scheme after 3 months of employment. After a successful probationary period, you will be enrolled in private medical insurance.
