Master Vehicle Technician Location: Bristol Salary: £40,000 £45,000 per annum We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Vehicle Technician to join our workshop team in Bristol, working across commercial vehicles and Geely. This is a specialist, senior-level role for a fully qualified technician who can consistently deliver work to the highest standard and act as a technical authority within the dealership. As a Master Technician, you will be regarded as one of the foremost technical experts in the workshop, playing a key role in complex diagnostics, mentoring colleagues, and ensuring an excellent customer experience. Key Responsibilities Carry out advanced diagnostics using specialist diagnostic equipment and a systematic approach to fault finding Accurately identify, diagnose, and repair complex vehicle faults across a range of systems and technologies Communicate with customers when required to clearly understand and explain vehicle issues Stay up to date with the latest vehicle technologies and manufacturer repair methods Ensure all work is completed safely, following health and safety procedures at all times Road test vehicles and quality-check all completed work to ensure first-time fix standards Liaise with Service Advisors to provide clear updates on diagnostic findings and repair progress Complete all required documentation including job cards, PDI forms, service reports, and warranty paperwork in line with dealership standards Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment, ensuring proper use of tools and equipment Support colleagues by providing technical guidance, mentoring, and sharing best practice Contribute to a strong team culture focused on excellent customer service and continuous improvement Essential Skills & Experience Qualified Diagnostic Technician / Master Technician or equivalent senior-level technician experience NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent) Minimum of 2 years experience as a qualified vehicle technician (significantly more experience preferred for this senior role) Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability on modern vehicles and systems Experience in customer-facing technical discussions Ability to coach, mentor, and support other technicians in the workshop High level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills Commitment to high standards of workmanship and integrity Strong communication skills, both technical and non-technical What We Offer Competitive salary of £40,000 £45,000 per annum Opportunity to work with modern vehicle technology and leading automotive brands Supportive and professional workshop environment Ongoing training and development opportunities A key technical leadership role within the dealership About the Role This is a pivotal position within our workshop, ensuring a first-time fix culture and helping to deliver outstanding customer satisfaction through expert diagnostics and high-quality repairs.
