Asbestos Supervisor - Dounreay - Fixed Term Contract
Altrad is seeking an experienced Asbestos Supervisor to join our team on a major project at Dounreay. This is an excellent opportunity to lead asbestos removal operations within a highly regulated environment, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate asbestos removal activities across the project site
* Allocate daily tasks and manage work schedules for asbestos operatives
* Conduct site inspections to identify hazards and implement effective control measures
* Monitor working practices to ensure the safe handling and removal of asbestos-containing materials
* Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, site procedures, and company policies
* Maintain accurate documentation, including permits, daily reports, and site records
* Deliver toolbox talks and daily briefings to promote a strong safety culture
* Liaise with site management, client representatives, and project teams to support smooth project delivery
* Report incidents, near misses, and non-conformances in line with company procedures
* Support and motivate team members to maintain high standards of performance and professionalism
Requirements
* Proven experience supervising asbestos removal projects
* Valid asbestos supervisory training and certification
* Strong knowledge of current asbestos, health & safety, and environmental regulations
* Previous experience working on high-security or nuclear sites is desirable
* Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
* SC Clearance or willingness to obtain clearance is essential
